Made by hand and hallmarked. Cast or fabricated here, set here, filed and polished here. Where a line calls for an antique method — guilloché, milgrain, a cut-down collet — we use it, which takes longer and shows.
Eman Jewellers opened in 2022 with a bench, a loupe and a rule we have not broken since: say what a thing actually is. A plated ring is called a plated ring. A set stone that has not been tested is not called a sapphire. A pre-owned watch is photographed as the unit that will arrive, marks and all.
That rule is why the shop has two halves that look nothing alike. At one end is the bench, where five lines are cut, set and hand-finished — Aurelia, Lumière, Verdant, Nocturne and Héritage — in gold, platinum and silver, hallmarked and made to order. At the other is the store: plated and silver-tone pieces at nine to twenty pounds, bought in rather than made, and described as exactly that. Between them sit the watches, which are bought outright and put in front of a watchmaker before they are put in front of you.
We are not trying to make those three things sound like one thing. A twelve-pound ring and a four-thousand-pound one are both worth selling honestly, and the only thing they need to have in common is that nobody was misled about either.

Three promises, and their limits
In the store
Bought in, and never dressed up. Plating is a layer on top rather than metal through: it wears, fastest at the back of a band. We say so on every listing, because at these prices that is the trade and it is a fair one as long as nobody pretends otherwise.
On the watches
Bought outright, so there is no consignment pressure to move a unit we have doubts about. Inspected, timed, pressure-tested where the model calls for it, then photographed as-is with every mark disclosed.
The bench
Slower, and it shows
A Victorian cluster is built by cutting each stone down into its own seat and then rolling a milgrain wire around the rim by hand with a knurling tool. It takes a day and a half per ring and there is no way to shortcut it. We do it that way because the alternative looks like the alternative.
